Laser tattoo removal is not entirely effective. Some pigments, for example green and yellow are practically untreatable. These colours reflect the high energy light pulses that laser produces.

Laser tattoo removal is expensive as it takes many more treatments and has a reputation for being painful and leaving scaring.

Although in hindsight, it was certainly an improvement on skin grafts, laser can be viewed as aggressive and outdated when compared to the latest tattoo removal methods used at the Southampton Skin Clinic.

Laser relies on the ink pigments being absorbed back in to the body and after treatment the skin should be kept out of direct sunlight for some time, neither of which are a feature of our cream method.

Our system is the least painful method currently known for tattoo removal. Our very latest precision machines often give a much better experience than the application of the original tattoo that you have already been through. A topical anaesthetic can also be applied to the area before treatment if required.

The cream system we use is safe. Laser removal can cause long term skin texture or pigment change and surgical methods can leave significant scarring.

The Southampton Skin Clinic system is the fastest and therefore the least expensive, non surgical way to remove a tattoo and permanent make up. A tattoo can typically be removed in four treatments and it takes approximately six weeks for the treated area to heal sufficiently between treatments. Laser treatment takes significantly longer, thus savings soon add up in both time and money.
